The Dutch Rail-, Road- and Waterways Infrastructure domain is gradually using Systems Engineering since early 2000. Especially the nation wide Rail Infrastructure manager has always been on the forefront of related developments in the domain. Were it initially started with writing contracts and good requirements, the activities have moved towards Verification & Validation and recently to modeling the System Architecture. The chosen approach for modeling the System Architecture was well received by international parties, operating in the same domain.
